Your soup sounded so delicious that when Dad went to store I sent him with a list of all the ingredients and made it last night. I knew it would be hard to find mace, so I left that off and used cinnamon instead to compliment the nutmeg. It was so good! This soup might become a new staple for us this fall.
Mace is kind of hard to find. Apparently it is made from part of the nutmeg plant, but cinnamon is an excellent substitute. Penzey's, my favorite spice specialty store, does carry mace if anyone else is looking for it. https://www.penzeys.com/online-catalog/mace-ground/c-24/p-1040/pd-s
Oh, that one line from that old song still gets me, too. And, ouch: trying to shame other Christians into being more loving--you got me. Guilty as charged. May I also be known by my love, to all. Thanks.
And I have a lovely butternut squash waiting to be turned into something yummy. 😊
You also know this old Army Green Beret that insists it is the only way to lead. Lead with Love.
I still think of that song!
So do I!

I'm so glad you made the soup!
